The school division's 2020 Summer School sessions are scheduled to begin Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Only students whose parents are residents of Virginia Beach are eligible to attend summer school classes. The summer school sessions for Summer 2020 will be online unless otherwise noted. There has been cost reductions for Summer School courses/programs based upon the impact of COVID-19.

Registration for Middle School Courses (Schoology)
Before registering for any high school summer school courses, parents should contact their child’s school counselor to confirm the student’s eligibility to enroll in a summer school course. All high school credited courses will be online via Virginia Beach Digital Campus.
Middle School courses offered during Summer School 2020 will be delivered via Schoology.
Beginning June 1, parents/students will be able to register online for core summer school middle school courses. Registration and payment for courses will be processed online through the Virginia Beach City Public Schools Web Store. Registration and payment for middle school core courses will be accepted via the web store on June 1, 2020 at 12:00 noon through June 18, 2020 at 8:00 am and must be completed before leaving the registration website in order for a student to be enrolled. Students are not officially registered until payment has been received. Access to the web store is also available using any mobile device. Registration for Special Education and English as a Second Language (ESL) summer program information and the registration procedures will be sent to each school.

Registration for Online Courses (All High School Credited Courses)
All high school credited courses will be delivered via the Virginial Beach Digital Campus for Summer 2020. All classes that were face-to-face last year will be offered; however, they will be delivered online via Virginia Beach Digital Campus.

This includes current eighth-grade students who are rising ninth-graders who want to enroll in a high school course offered in summer school.
